Andrew Lopez Dies in Solo-Car Accident on Highway 2 Near Desert Front Road
WRIGHTWOOD, CA (May 15, 2019) – A Phelan man died in a rollover accident Sunday on Highway 2 near Desert Front Road.
The fatal crash happened around 2:27 a.m. on Mother’s Day.
According to a California Highway Patrol news release, Andrew Lopez was traveling eastbound in a 2005 Buick Le Sabre. For unexplained reasons, his Buick left the road, struck a dirt berm and rolled over several times.
Per investigators, Lopez was not strapped in a seatbelt which resulted in his being ejected from the car. The 32-year-old, described as the brightest light in the room by his loved ones, died as a result of the crash.
Lopez leaves behind his 5-year-old son, his mother and sisters.
The CHP Victorville Area is investigating this case further to determine the cause.
