ANTELOPE, CA (January 20, 2020) — A man lost his life Sunday morning in a DUI pedestrian crash on Walerga Road near Elverta Road.
 
According to California Highway Patrol officers, the pedestrian — a 65-year-old man — crossed Walerga Road around 12:30 a.m. There, a southbound 1999 Toyota Corolla struck him.
 
Authorities later determined that 25-year-old Andrew Jogesh Lal —the driver of the Corolla— exuded signs of impairment. Lal was eventually arrested as a result.
 
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department pronounced the pedestrian deceased on scene minutes later. They described him as a 65-year-old man with an unknown residence.
