1 Injured in Vancouver Car Accident
VANCOUVER, WA (December 9, 2019) – A 22-year-old woman sustained injuries in a car accident on 5 Freeway on December 5.
The incident happened on the northbound span of the 5 Freeway Bridge around 4:55 a.m. As a result, the collision shut down two lanes and part of a third, Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn revealed.
22-year-old Andrea S. Poggio went to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
Finn added that troopers believe Poggio suffered from impairment during the collision. As a result, troopers issued a search warrant for a blood sample to be sent to the state toxicologist for analysis.
By 6:45 a.m., the area got cleared. However, it still affected the morning commute. The crash stalled the freeway’s southbound traffic for multiple hours.
The C-Tran also revealed that the bus service got temporarily suspended at Turtle Place. Officials advised commuters to use 205 Freeway to head to Portland.
