Ambulance Responds to Pursuit Crash on Highway 101 [Ukiah, CA]

Medics Respond to Police Pursuit on Highway 101

Ukiah, CA (December 19, 2021) – On Saturday, an ambulance responded to a police pursuit crash on Highway 101.

The chase started at 11:57 p.m. which involved a lowered, new model silver Mercedes sedan with tinted windows.

It went southbound passed Burke Hill Road, then went back northbound Old River Road reaching speeds upwards of 85 mph.

Later on, the vehicle drove westbound and was reportedly smoking due to a blown tire.

Apparently, officers believe that the driver reside on the 300 block of Brush Street. They think the driver might be attempting to travel to the location, with the vehicle reportedly having two flat tires.

Then, sedan crashed with a taxi cab in front of the Co-op.

Immediately, an ambulance responded to the scene.

When driving, better to scan the road 1/2 mile to a full mile ahead in order to look out or recognize potential hazards in time. Our bodies weren’t designed to travel at 50mph. We were designed for speeds of less than 10mph. Thus, you need to learn to consciously break that natural instinct and focus farther ahead.

Injuries in Traffic Crash

Moreover, driving is essential for many in order to move about in their lives, however, it is one of the most dangerous activities we do every day. As often these accidents happen, many people do not know what follows in the event of a car accident.

Furthermore, according to the United States Department of Transportation, there are approximately 300,000 merging accidents every year.

So, in case of accidents like this one, it is crucial that everyone remain calm in order to properly handle the immediate aftermath of an automobile collision.

Meanwhile, here are some of the things that we can do to practice defensive driving and avoid accidents:

– Always drive at a controllable speed.

– Never assume you know the other driver’s intention.

– Also, be prepared to positively react to other drivers.

– This one, we should never neglect: yield at intersections, even if you have right of way.

– Most importantly, stay focused on the road. Remove all distractions such as mobile phones unstrapped toddlers, etc.
