Alex Marroquin Arrested for DUI Following Crash at Avenue 48 and Dune Palms Road

 
LA QUINTA, CA (May 3, 2019) – A driver suffered injuries in a 2-car DUI crash at Avenue 48 and Dune Palms Road Wednesday afternoon.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m.
 
Officers from the La Quinta Police Department responded to the scene and determined Alex Marroquin, of Indio, was impaired.
 
In their investigation, authorities learned that the 54-year-old driver blew through a red light after traveling east on Avenue 48. His silver Nissan truck subsequently collided with a Nissan Altima driver at Dune Palms Road.
 
As a result of the crash, the other driver suffered moderate injuries.
 
Soon after, officers arrested the uninjured Marroquin on suspicion of DUI. By 9:30 p.m., they booked him into the Indio jail before he met his $50,000 bail, say jail records.
