TUCSON, AZ (October 3, 2019) – Two men succumbed to death after a car accident on East Broadway on September 30.

The Tucson police officers came to a report of a serious injury car accident on East Broadway and Sarnoff Drive about 8:00 p.m.

57-year-old Alejo Carrillo Madueno died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the passenger in Madueno’s vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries. Responders took him to Banner University Medical Center where he later died. His identity remains unreleased due to pending family notification.

Meanwhile, a DUI officer revealed that the woman from the other vehicle suffered from impairment.

The investigators determined that an eastbound Chevy Suburban traveled on Broadway. When it approached a red light at Sarnoff Drive, the vehicle collided into a Chevy Lumina’s driver side.

Alejo Carillo Madueno drove the northbound Lumina while turning left onto Broadway. The impact sent both vehicles east and the Lumina stopped on top of the median on the east side of the intersection.

Moreover, the female suburban driver didn’t suffer any injury. She stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Authorities are still investigating the crash.
