13-Year-Old Boy Fatally Struck by Vehicle at Niles Street and Park Drive
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 30, 2019) – A 13-year-old boy was killed in a pedestrian crash Sunday evening in Bakersfield.
The crash happened around 7:00 p.m., at the intersection of Niles Street and Park Drive. First responders arrived shortly after.
According to reports, the boy had been standing with a group of other kids near a GET bus stop about 125 feet east of Park Drive. There, they began running south across Niles Street outside of a marked crosswalk, attempting to beat eastbound traffic.
