1 Hospitalized in Oceanside Bicycle Accident on Vista Way near El Camino Real

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (August 19, 2021) – Saturday morning, Adam Atkinson sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Vista Way near El Camino Real.
 
According to Oceanside Police Department, the incident happened near El Camino Real and Marron Road.
 
Reports revealed that the incident started when a bicyclist and a driver exchanged words. Apparently, a BMW cut off the bicyclist near El Camino Real and Marron Road.
 
Then, the BMW driver followed the bicyclist and struck him from behind on eastbound Vista Way. Afterward, the BMW fled the scene after the crash.
 
Furthermore, responders transported the bicyclist, Adam Atkinson, to Scripps La Jolla Medical Center. He sustained a broken pelvis, elbow, collar bone, and shoulder blade.
 
Moreover, officials are actively looking for the driver of a four-door black BMW and a male driver in his mid-20s.
 
The incident remains under investigation.
