Police Arrest Abelardo Gurrola in San Bernardino Crash on 5th Street

 
San Bernardino, CA (February 08, 2021) – On Saturday, a police officer was injured, while police arrested 41-year-old Abelardo Gurrola of San Bernardino in a DUI crash on 5th Street.
 
The road crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. at the intersection with Cabrera Avenue.
 
Apparently, the officer was patrolling in his marked patrol car when he stopped at a red signal at the intersection.
 
Jus then, a Toyota Tacoma driver by Gurrola crashed into the back of the officer’s vehicle.
 
Rescuers took both the officer and Gurrola to local hospitals for crash injuries.
 
The unidentified officer was released from the hospital. On the other hand, Gurrola remained hospitalized for treatment of non-fatal injuries as of Sunday night.
 
Meanwhile, authorities arrested Gurrola on suspicion of felony driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury.
