72-Year-Old Man Killed in Trinity County Auto Accident on Highway 299 and Cemetery Road

TRINITY COUNTY, CA (June 13, 2023) – Sunday, Aaron Angeli was involved in a deadly head-on crash on Highway 299 and Cemetery Road.

The crash happened on Highway 299 east of Cemetery Road, according to CHP.

Reports said that a 72-year-old man drove a 2003 Ford Ranger west on Highway 299, east of Cemetery Road at about 55 mph.

Meanwhile, 39-year-old Angeli drove a 1997 Ford Club Wagon eastbound on Highway 299.

Then, the Ford Ranger driver drove over the double yellow lines and approached the eastbound lane, directly into the path of the Club Wagon. As a result, the vehicles crashed head-on in the eastbound lane.

Meanwhile, the 39-year-old driver sustained a broken thumb and toe. The driver managed to exit his vehicle and got the other driver out of their car

Moreover, the crash caused the Ford Ranger to catch fire after both parties were clear for the vehicle. However, the driver of the Ford Ranger succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification. Moreover, the authorities haven’t clarified whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
