Joseph Granados Struck and Injured 88-Year-Old Man on Freedom Boulevard
Aptos, CA (December 8, 2020) – On Friday, an 88-year-old pedestrian was struck and injured by the 29-year-old Joseph Granados in a DUI crash on Freedom Boulevard.
The crash happened before 2 p.m. when Granados, the Honda driver was traveling east on Freedom Boulevard west of Mariner Way, and the victim walked to his mailbox.
CHP said Granados struck the man and mailboxes on the south shoulder of the Boulevard.
Immediately, responders took the victim to Dominican Hospital before being flown to Valley Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, Granados did not incur any injury from the crash.
The authorities are investigating the incident. Though CHP said Granados is suspected of driving under the influence of drugs.
Police arrested him.
Never drink and drive.
