58-Year-Old Berkeley Man Arrested in Gilman Street Hit-and-Run Accident
Berkeley, CA (December 31, 2021) On Tuesday, an 83-year-old woman was hurt in a hit-and-run crash on Gilman Street.
The Berkeley Police says that the accident happened around 11:29 a.m. near Gilman Street at Tenth Street.
Witness reports that a vehicle turning left onto Gillman struck the woman, the woman fell to the ground.
Paramedics took the woman to Highland Hospital in Oakland for a serious leg or hip injury.
Meanwhile, the suspect vehicle was seen at an off-street lot of a hotel on the 1700 block of University Avenue.
Moreover, police caught the suspect driver hiding in one of the hotel rooms after police checked the hotel’s video surveillance.
Berkeley Police arrested the 58-year-old Berkeley man and charged him with vehicular hit-and-run causing injury, driving without a license, and parole violation.
