74-Year-Old Male Killed in Tieton Drive Pedestrian Accident [Yakima, WA]

Yakima, WA (October 27, 2023) – A 74-year-old male was killed following a Tieton Drive pedestrian accident Wednesday morning.

It was about 7 a.m when a a 2017 Dodge Durango vehicle driven by a 52-year-old Yakima woman was turning left onto westbound Tieton Drive from 72nd Avenue.

Officers said the vehicle hit a the pedestrian who was crossing Tieton Drive in the crosswalk. Immediately, the rescuers rushed the pedestrian to MultiCare Memorial Hospital where he later died.

The Yakima Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating this fatal collision. They do not suspect drug or alcohol impairment as factors.
