69-Year-Old Pedestrian Hospitalized in Hit-and-Run Crash on Orange Avenue and Central Avenue
San Diego, CA (August 16, 2020) – On Friday, a 69-year-old man got a broken leg in a hit-and-run crash on Orange Avenue and Central Avenue.
The crash happened at around 10:15 p.m. on August 14 in the Teralta West neighborhood.
Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department said the victim was crossing northbound at the intersection of the two Avenues. Just then, a vehicle moving east on Orange Avenue turned north onto Central Avenue and hit the man.
Heims added that the involved driver immediately fled the scene after the accident.
The 69-year-old victim sustained non-fatal injuries. Rescuers took him to a hospital.
Meanwhile, authorities described the suspect vehicle as a light-colored, 4-door sedan, possibly a Pontiac G6 or similar vehicle. Though, the driver’s description is not yet available.
