65-Year-Old Minerva Camacho Fatally Struck on Almond Avenue [Sanger, CA]

Sanger, CA (March 31, 2022) – On Tuesday, the authorities arrested 31-year-old Salomon Zaragoza and 21-year-old Adrian Valencia in a traffic collision on Almond Avenue killing 65-year-old Minerva Camacho.

A police officer spotted an SUV with three male occupants near Faller Avenue and 10th Street. They said at least one of them was a gang member and was driving dangerously in a neighborhood.

However, just before the trooper was able to pull the car over, the suspect vehicle pulled over. A passenger threw a handgun in someone’s yard. Then, that passenger got back in the vehicle and drove off.

That is when the authorities started a pursuit and they say the suspect’s car almost collided head-on with one of the officers at one point.

Moreover, as the suspects’ vehicle tried turning right onto Almond Avenue, its driver lost control. The vehicle went over the curb and drove into a driveway where Camacho and a child were standing.

Camacho pushed the child out of the way but she was struck by the red SUV. She was pinned under the car as it crashed into the house.

Immediately, the paramedics took Camacho to a hospital where she died.

Meanwhile, the authorities arrested Zaragoza and Valencia. Officers booked them into the Fresno County Jail on multiple charges.
