Man, 62, Injured in Scooter Crash on Bayside Walk in Mission Beach

MISSION BEACH, CA (March 31, 2019) – A man suffered serious injuries early Sunday morning following a scooter crash on Bayside Walk. Authorities did not disclose the identity of the 62-year-old victim.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened at about 12:30 AM. The victim lost control of his motorized scooter and fell head first onto the sidewalk near Mission Bay Sportcenter.
 
Witnesses rushed to render aid to the victim. Emergency responders later transported the victim to an area hospital with a neck fracture and facial abrasions. Further updates on his current condition were not provided.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
