Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on McKean Road in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (September 12, 2019) – A 58-year-old San Jose woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday morning in San Jose.
The crash occurred between 9:30 and 10:15 a.m. along McKean Road south of Country View Drive.
According to the CHP, the woman was walking along the rural road when a vehicle struck her. The driver then fled the scene without rendering aid.
The force of the crash threw her into brush at the side of the road, where she was spotted around 10:15 a.m. by a passing motorist who then called 911.
Arriving units pronounced her dead at the scene. Her name was not immediately available.
Nearby, investigators found the right-side mirror of a Ford F-150 pickup, which they believe was the vehicle that struck the woman.
That stretch of McKean Road is two lanes with no shoulder. The speed limit is 45 mph.
