One Killed, Driver Arrested in Wrong-Way Crash on US 101
Olympia, WA (December 4, 2020) – On Friday, one died and police arrested a 53-year-old pickup truck driver in a DUI crash on US 101.
The deadly crash happened after 5 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Shaker Church Road.
Apparently, two vehicles were involved in the crash, including a Nissan pickup truck traveling north in the southbound lanes.
Immediately, medics and troopers responded to the incident and found one person who died at the scene.
Police withheld the deceased’s identity pending notification of family members.
Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver survived and was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide. Evidence points to the driver being on drugs.
Furthermore, the authorities closed southbound lanes at the crash scene for several hours but reopened just after 9 A.M.
