5 Survive Fatal Fiery Two-Car Crash on Highway 132 [La Grange, CA]

Carrie Nau, Chad Laird, Giovanni Perrone IV, Annabelle Cavendar and Genesis Wiggins Escape With Injuries in Fatal Two-Car Collision on Highway 132 Near Hayward Road

 
LA GRANGE, CA (May 21, 2019) – A woman died in a fiery two-car crash Monday afternoon on Highway 132 near Hayward Road.
 
The 3 p.m. crash happened just west of the Mariposa County Line.
 
When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found a Nissan sedan fully engulfed in flames.
 
According to a California Highway Patrol investigation, the 2009 Nissan was headed eastbound on Highway 132 when its driver, for unknown reasons, swerved into oncoming traffic.
 
A westbound 2016 Subaru sedan struck the left rear of the Nissan, sending it off the roadway. The 2009 Nissan subsequently burst into flames with its driver trapped inside. Sadly, the woman inside died as a result.
 
La Grange resident Carrie Nau, 40, and her four passengers were taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto and Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
 
CHP officers identified them as 29-year-old Chad Laird, of La Grange; 1-year-old Giovanni Perrone IV, of Modesto; 4-year-old Annabelle Cavendar, of Modesto; and 2-year-old Genesis Wiggins, of Modesto.
 
As of Monday morning, authorities have not released the identity of the fatal victim.
