Two-Vehicle Collision in Mecca Sends Multiple People to Hospitals
MECCA, CA (November 5, 2019)—Paramedics shuttled several people to hospitals following a car crash on 70th Avenue and Cleveland Street Saturday evening.
Reports noted that the two-car collision involved a gray Dodge Ram pickup and a Chevy Tahoe SUV.
According to Cal Fire, five people sustained injuries of various severities in the 6:30 p.m. accident. Paramedics transported all five–two of whom suffered moderate injuries–to nearby hospitals.
Medical staff airlifted one person to Desert Regional Medical Center.
As of late, the cause of the crash remains unclear, but California Highway Patrol noted that speeding likely played a part on the pickup driver’s part.
Authorities will release more information once they’ve determined the cause and circumstances.
