Man Hurt in El Cajon Pedestrian Crash on Jamacha Road

 
EL CAJON, CA (November 2, 2020) – Saturday night, a 49-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Jamacha Road in El Cajon.
 
A Toyota pickup struck and injured a crossing pedestrian at about 6:25 p.m. According to reports, the incident happened in the 400 block of Jamacha Road.
 
When the paramedics arrived, they located the unconscious but breathing victim. The pedestrian suffered serious head and leg wounds after being struck by a car, said the authorities.
 
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and the authorities do not believe that the driver was under the influence.
 
On the other hand, Sgt. Steve Paz confirmed that Jamacha Road will remain closed between Lexington and Sunnyland avenues until about 11:30 p.m. Moreover, Paz advised pedestrians and motorists to always be aware.
 
“Only cross the street at designated, controlled intersections, and wear bright or light-colored clothing for visibility,” he stated. “For those driving vehicles during hours of darkness, please pay extra attention to the roadway and be aware of pedestrians that may be crossing.”
