48-Year-Old Anthony Tapia Dies in E 7th Street Collision [Long Beach, CA]

Long Beach, CA (August 17, 2024) – 48-year-old Anthony Tapia, who was experiencing homelessness, was killed in a 7th Street collision Thursday.

The fatal hit-and-run crash happened on August 3 on St. Louis Avenue.

Troopers said Tapia was struck by a dark-colored SUV that fled and did not return. The accident report stated that he was not in a marked crosswalk when the collision happened.

He was taken to a local hospital where he died Thursday.

Troopers are asking anyone with any information regarding the vehicle or driver to call Detectives David Dougherty or Efrain Pineda at 562-570-7355.
