4 People Hurt in 5 Freeway Fiery Crash With Big Rig in Tehama County
TEHAMA COUNTY, CA (June 12, 2019) – Four people suffered injuries Monday following a crash with a big rig on the 5 Freeway near Giles Road.
According to authorities, the crash happened approximately 11 miles north of Corning.
Crews had to shut down the No. 1 and 2 lanes due to investigation and clean up. It appears a vehicle caught on fire while driving north on the 5 Freeway. Subsequently, a big rig trailing behind it struck the vehicle before partially driving off the roadway.
Officials are investigating what caused the collision in the first place, and anyone with information should contact authorities.
