Anza Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 371 Results to Injuries
ANZA, CA (November 12, 2019) — Four people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 371 Friday afternoon.
The crash happened on the eastbound side of the highway near Cary Road at about 2:00 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Tacoma pickup overturned after colliding with a full-size van. Meanwhile, the specific circumstances with the third vehicle involved were not immediately available.
The Riverside County Fire Department personnel arrived within 15 minutes. They found an occupant of the van trapped. Crews extricated the victim at 2:45 p.m. A Mercy Air helicopter subsequently transported the person to a trauma center.
The other three patients were able to get out of the vehicles by themselves. Two of them incurred major injuries, including a man with broken legs. An air ambulance also airlifted them to a hospital.
On the other hand, a ground ambulance took the fourth person to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The collision forced the closure of the highway during the investigation and emergency response.
