Frances Northover, Susan Brown, Matt Brown-Washington and Michelle Untuch ID’d as Fatal Victims in Collision on Highway 97 Near Larue Road
TOPPENISH, WA (May 9, 2019) – Four people died Tuesday morning following an SUV accident with a semi-trailer on Highway 97 near Larue Road.
According to Washington State Trooper Justin Rumsey, the incident occurred south of Toppenish.
Around 4 a.m., a semi-truck collided with a Dodge Durango SUV carrying six people inside.
Four people inside the Dodge Durango perished in the crash. The victims were identified as 41-year-old Frances Northover, of Bellingham; 61-year-old Susan Brown, of Yakima; 21-year-old Matt Brown-Washington, of Wapato; and 39-year-old Michelle Untuch, of Toppenish.
The two outstanding Dodge occupants suffered unknown injuries while the semi-trailer driver sustained minor injuries.
Information is insufficient at this time, but according to Rumsey, the Dodge Durango reportedly sped through a stop sign before smashing into the southbound semi-trailer.
Details concerning at which direction the Dodge Durango was traveling was unavailable. However, an ongoing investigation continues as investigators piece together this deadly crash.
