1 Dead in Orting Pedestrian Accident on Orville Road
ORTING, WA (September 30, 2020) – Saturday night, a 34-year-old man died in a hit-and-run crash on Orville Road in Orting.
At about 10:40 p.m., the authorities received a report of a body found in the middle of the road. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the incident happened in the 28200 block of Orville Road East.
When the deputies and medics came to the scene, they located a deceased 34-year-old man. Apparently, a hit-and-run vehicle struck and killed him. Meanwhile, the investigators suspect that the man came from a birthday party. They added that the victim probably came from home just south of the crash scene about 30 minutes before the crash.
As of this time, the authorities haven’t found any witnesses to the crash. Thus, they are encouraging anyone living along the south end of Orting Road from Kaposwin to 264th Street East to check their security cameras. Particularly, the officers are looking for images of the deceased or suspicious vehicles from 10:00 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. If residents found anything from their security cameras, they are urged to contact the police.
The crash on Orville Road remains under active investigation.
