VALLEJO, CA (January 18, 2020) – Saturday afternoon, a 34-year-old Fairfield man sustained injuries in a high-speed crash on State Highway 37 and State Highway 29.
 
According to reports, the man traveled west in a 1998 Chevrolet Corvette. He drove at speeds exceeding 120 mph on State Highway 37 as he possibly raced with a purple Dodge Charger.
 
Afterward, the Corvette driver lost control as he came close to State Highway 29. Then, he crashed into a concrete barrier and his vehicle caught fire.
 
When the authorities arrived, they freed the driver from the wreckage. However, the driver suffered major life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, a Corvette passenger sustained minor injuries.
 
The authorities noted that both Corvette occupants used their seat belts during the collision.
