Collision on Highway 395 Kills 3, Injures 4 Others in Walker
WALKER, CA (July 1, 2019) – Three people died and four others sustained critical injuries in a head-on collision on Highway 395 Sunday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol said the incident involved a Nissan Pathfinder SUV and a Toyota Tacoma pickup. The Nissan was southbound on the highway when it collided head-on with the northbound Toyota just after 3:30 p.m.
First responders transported two people inside the Toyota to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. The driver died at the hospital.
Two of the five passengers inside the Nissan died at the same hospital. The remaining passengers from both cars had critical injuries.
The Mono County Sheriff’s Office will release the names of the people involved in the collision after families are notified.
