DUI Car Crash on 1500 Block Near Alki Avenue Injures 3 Kids
SEATTLE, WA (April 1, 2020) – 1 man suspected of DUI driving caused a car crash on Alki Avenue SW near Alki Beach involving 3 kids on March 29.
The police said that the incident took place at about 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, involving three minors and a woman.
The 26-year old driver drove a Honda Civic heading north with his four passengers.
He then slammed into a parked car, which resulted in the Honda flipping over.
Witnesses immediately attended to the victims and helped extricate them from the flipped vehicle.
Later, the police and medics responded and took over the scene.
The man, together with the 3 kids and the woman, were all transported to the hospital.
When man was assessed, he showed signs of impairment. The police later found evidence of drug use by both adults.
Afterward, the police further searched the scene, and attained a warrant for blood samples from the driver.
He was transported to King County Jail to undergo a DUI investigation.
