Alexis Hernandez Arrested after DUI 2-Vehicle Crash on Yucca Mesa Road in Yucca Valley

Yucca Valley, CA (August 11, 2023) – Saturday night, 3 people sustained injuries in a DUI 2-vehicle crash on Yucca Mesa Road and Barron Drive.

Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene around 10:50 p.m. for a two-vehicle traffic collision.

Deputies stated that the driver of a white Ford SUV traveling northbound on Yucca Mesa Road struck the rear of a red Jeep Wrangler that was turning left from Yucca Mesa Road onto Barron Drive.

The force of the impact caused both vehicles to roll over and the red Jeep Wrangler struck an Edison pole and left over 1,000 homes and businesses without power for up to four hours.

Three occupants of the jeep were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. They were a 48-year-old, a 23-year-old, and a 14-year-old, all residents of Yucca Valley. 

A 1-year-old from Lake Havasu, Arizona, was also in the white Ford SUV.

Alexis Hernandez, the driver of the Ford, was detained on charges of DUI and child endangerment. Hernandez was arrested and taken to the Central Detention Center. She was later released after posting bail.
