Several Injured in Irwindale Car Accident
IRWINDALE, CA (January 17, 2020)—Three people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle accident at Azusa Canyon Road and Los Angeles Street Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred around 8:05 a.m. and involved two vehicles, one of which became disabled on the Metrolink train tracks.
Witnesses of the collision rushed to pull an injured party from the Toyota Camry that had been struck on the tracks. In addition, a Metrolink crew who spotted an approaching train took immediate action to halt the train in order to prevent a collision.
Per news reports, three adults sustained minor injuries and sought treatment at a nearby hospital. Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with police questioning.
Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The details concerning how the incident occurred were unavailable.
