Fatal Head-On Collision Claims 3 Lives in Walker
WALKER, CA (July 2, 2019) – Three people were killed Sunday afternoon following a Highway 395 accident near Topaz Lake.
According to reports, the accident not only claimed three people’s lives but left four with serious injuries.
The California Highway Patrol says a southbound Nissan Pathfinder collided with a northbound Toyota Tacoma around 3:30 p.m. According to Patrol, two Tacoma occupants were shuttled to a Reno hospital where the driver subsequently died.
Paramedics transported five Nissan occupants to a nearby hospital where two passengers succumbed to their injuries.
Now, at least two of the injured survivors remain in critical condition.
Authorities are perplexed as to what drove this devastating accident. However, CHP officers are investigating this case further to determine the factors.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
