Woman From Martinez Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Pacheco Boulevard
Martinez, CA (December 12, 2020) – On Friday, a 28-year-old woman from Martinez died in a pedestrian accident on Pacheco Boulevard at Wygal Drive.
The fatal accident was reported to Contra Costa CHP at about 5:18 P.M.
When the emergency personnel and CHP arrived, they found the pedestrian who was struck by a Chevrolet truck. Emergency personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
On the other hand, Chevrolet’s female driver did not get injured. She stayed on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Initial investigation said the pedestrian was not in a designated crosswalk and walked across the lanes of traffic of Pacheco Boulevard.
The Chevrolet truck was traveling eastbound and by the time the driver saw the pedestrian, she was unable to avoid her.
As a result, the Chevrolet struck the pedestrian, who incurred fatal injuries.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Coroners Office will release the identity of the deceased.
Meanwhile, the authorities investigate the incident.
