1 Hospitalized after San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Camino Ruiz
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 6, 2019) – A 20-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Camino Ruiz.
The woman sustained two fractured femurs and major head trauma after an SUV hit her in the Mira Mesa area on November 5.
The incident occurred shortly after 6:40 p.m. in the 9900 block of Camino Ruiz, near Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego police Sgt. Kevin Gibson revealed.
According to Gibson, a 47-year-old woman drove a northbound 2009 Lexus 350 SUV on Camino Ruiz. However, the 20-year-old woman walked into the right lane and got hit by the oncoming SUV.
Responders took the victim to a hospital for treatment of two fractured femurs and major head trauma.
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene. After that, authorities ruled out intoxication as a factor in the collision.
