Mazda Driver Injured in Head-On Crash on North City Neighborhood
(April 28, 2022) On Wednesday, A 20-year-old man sustained injuries from a head-on collision on the 14900 block of Via De La Valle.
According to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) that at around 3:51 p.m. an eastbound 1999 blue Mazda Miata collided with a silver 2022 Chevrolet Volt EV in the North City neighborhood.
Moreover, reports say that a 16-year-old girl was driving the Chevrolet at the time of the crash.
Furthermore, both vehicles veered to the westbound lane to avoid colliding with each other. Consequently, they ended up crashing head-on.
Paramedics say that the Mazda driver suffered a broken left femur and other fractures. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, the 16-year-old driver complained about pain but was not taken to a hospital.
The SDPD Traffic Division is investigating the crash and has ruled out impairment as a factor for the crash.
