2 Hurt in Los Angeles Fiery Car Accident on South Spence Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 8, 2021) – Sunday morning, two people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on South Spence Street.
According to Officer Mike Lopez of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section, a near collision involving a patrol vehicle occurred in the area of Seventh and Marietta streets in Boyle Heights. Afterward, the incident sparked a police pursuit that lasted for about 30 seconds.
Reports revealed that the suspect vehicle, a gold 2000 Toyota Solara collided with another vehicle, overturned, and began to catch fire.
Thus, around 8:54 a.m., paramedics and firefighters responded to the crash in the 800 block of South Spence Street.
Then, firefighters put out the vehicle fire and extricated the driver and a male unconscious passenger of the Toyota.
Afterward, responders transported the two to an area hospital with critical injuries, Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Two people from the second vehicle involved only complained of body pains and were not taken to a hospital., Lopez added.
The incident is under investigation.
