Driver and Passenger Hurt in Port Orchard Accident on State Route 16 and Tremont Street
PORT ORCHARD, WA (June 9, 2021) – Tuesday afternoon, two people suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on State Route 16 and Tremont Street.
According to reports, two people sustained serious injuries after a pickup truck hit their black Chevrolet Camaro. The incident happened as they drove eastbound, just west of the Tremont exit.
Trooper Chelsea Hodgson revealed that the hit-and-run truck was a blue late 90’s Ford Ranger.
After the crash, the Camaro went off the road to the right and hit a tree. Meanwhile, witnesses last saw the truck driving east just before 2:00 p.m.
Responders took the Camaro driver and passenger to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Tacoma. Both of them suffered injuries.
The crash led to the traffic being stalled on eastbound SR 16 for a time. The incident led to a huge backup nearing the commute time.
Meanwhile, the authorities urged anyone with information about the crash to call Detective Krista Hedstrom by email at [email protected]. They can also call the agency’s non-emergency line at 360-473-0300 and select “Option 1” for a dispatcher.
