2 Hurt in Newhall Car Accident
NEWHALL, CA (February 4, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries following a crash on Railroad Avenue on January 30.
After 7:22 p.m., officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department came to Railroad Avenue and 8th Street just to respond to reports of a traffic crash.
When the responding units came at the area, they found out that a grey SUV had somehow crashed with the back of a dark grey Toyota in the No. 1 lane south-east lane of Railroad Avenue.
Mike Fuentes of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said, “Upon arrival, they found two patients with back injuries.”
The incident left significant damages to the rear bumper of the Toyota, officials on scene said.
Fuentes added that one of the injured was taken to Henry Mayo Hospital in an ambulance due to their back injuries, while the other stayed at the scene.
The extent of their injuries, as well as their condition, is still unknown as of this time.
The deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station closed both south-east lanes of Railroad Avenue while officials worked to aid the injured individuals, as well as the conduct of the investigation.
The factors that caused the collision is still unknown.
