Driver and Passenger Die after Solo Vehicle Crash on  Fahey Road in Santa Nella

Santa Nella, CA (March 2, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, two people died in a solo vehicle crash on Fahey Road.

The fatal crash in Santa Nella happened at around  2:30 p.m. on March 2 in the area of Fahey Road east of Cherokee Road. 

CHP said a 2010 Nissan Versa appears to have failed to negotiate a curve in the road, causing the vehicle to lose control and travel onto the shoulder. The vehicle then struck a PG&E power pole on the right front passenger side. 

There were two occupants, a 17-year-old male driver, and a 25-year-old male passenger, both from Dos Palos, who were pinned inside the vehicle. 

Both died at the scene. Police have yet to disclose their names.

Investigators said speed and inexperience may have been factors in the crash as it appears the vehicle was traveling too fast to negotiate the curve.

No other information is immediately available. Further investigation is underway.
