WHITTIER, CA (May 15, 2022) – Saturday morning, two people died in a two-vehicle crash on Whittier Boulevard and Esperanza Avenue.
 
The incident happened at about 1:50 a.m. on Whittier Boulevard and Esperanza Avenue.
 
According to reports, two vehicles, a red sedan, and a black sedan collided for unknown reasons. As a result, both vehicles sustained serious front-end and side damage.
 
Meanwhile, fire crews used heavy tools to cut doors on one of the vehicles to free one person in the wreckage.
 
Moreover, officers declared two people dead at the scene.
 
At this time, their identities remain undisclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Also, the authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. However, they’re considering speed as a factor in the crash.
 
Sheriff’s officials confirmed that Whittier Boulevard remained closed for several hours during the investigation.
