2 Hurt Following DUI Accident in Santa Barbara
SANTA BARBARA, CA (February 6, 2020) — Two people suffered injuries in Tuesday’s solo-car DUI crash along East Camino Cielo near Highway 154.
According to the California Highway Patrol, emergency personnel responded around 7:00 p.m., near Highway 154.
Occurring approximately 1 1/2 miles from Highway 154, the crash also roped CHP officers to the scene who believe impairment played a role due to the vehicle occupants’ struggle in telling dispatchers their location.
Soon after, a County Sheriff’s deputy discovered the vehicle 20 feet off the roadway. There, authorities located a pair with minor injuries. Paramedics transported both patients to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked on preliminary duties. Reports did not indicate whether anyone had been cited or arrested; however, an investigation continues.
