CHP Investigates Solo Truck Crash on the Stanislaus River in Modesto

Modesto, CA (May 13, 2022) – Friday afternoon, police investigated a fatal truck crash involving two people on the Stanislaus River.

The initial investigation detailed that a truck go through a fence and into a pond along the Stanislaus River near Oakdale on the afternoon of May 13.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office said the first report of the crash came in just before 3:15 p.m. at Orange Blossom Road and Bonson Court. 

First responders arrived to find the truck submerged in water. 

Two people were inside the truck.  EMS airlifted at least one person to the hospital for major injuries and the other one sustained minor injuries.

However, the CHP said Friday evening that the crash turned fatal but did not say if one or both of the individuals died.

Further investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
