MONTEREY, CA (December 16, 2019) — A three-vehicle Monterey Salinas Highway crash near Olmstead Road left two people hospitalized.
As a result of the accident, one victim was brought to a trauma center at Natividad Hospital in Salinas, while paramedics brought the other victim to Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
It’s unclear at this time what caused the accident. However, one vehicle sustained major front-end damage when it veered off the highway in a westbound direction and plowed into a tree around noon time. That car’s driver’s side airbags deployed in the accident. Another vehicle sustained major right-side damage.
Following the collision, police closed the westbound lanes of the highway at Canyon del Rey Boulevard, which created heavy traffic conditions for commuters.
