Injuries Reported in Tempe Train Accident on Center Parkway and Washington Street

 
TEMPE, AZ (September 21, 2021) – Monday afternoon, two people sustained injuries in a light rail train crash on Center Parkway and Washington Street.
 
The crash involved a pickup with two occupants inside and the light rail train, Tempe police revealed.
 
Also, the crash blocked the tracks but the normal services have resumed. However, the crash caused delays of up to 20 minutes to the light rail tracks.
 
According to reports, the pickup caught fire after the crash. Thus, the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue responded to put it out.
 
The crash injured the two occupants of the vehicle. Then, responders took one of them to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
After the crash, eastbound light rail trains turned around at Priest Drive and Washington Street. Then, westbound trains turned around at Mill Street and 3rd Street.
 
The train passengers suffered no injuries.
