2 Hurt Following Two-Car Crash in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 12, 2019) – Authorities are investigating Sunday’s two-vehicle crash at Avenida Del Gato and Calle Cristobal that left one person with serious injuries and another with minor injuries.
The incident befell around 6:25 p.m., according to San Diego police Officer John Buttle.
Buttle further added that a 40-year-old man driving a 2003 Acura sedan proceeded into the intersection after facing southbound on Avenida Del Gato. Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man in a 2011 Ford pickup truck traveling westbound proceeded into the intersection, as well.
Authorities are determining which driver failed to obey his signal at the intersection, which resulted in the two-car collision.
Following the accident, a woman in the Acura sustained serious injuries, prompting paramedics to bring her to a nearby hospital.
The driver of the Acura only complained of pain while the Ford driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Inferring from a preliminary investigation, authorities believe intoxication was not a factor.
