2 Hurt in Fiery Head-On Collision in Santa Ynez

 
SANTA YNEZ, CA (July 2, 2019) – A Monday evening 2-car crash on North Refugio Road near Highway 154, left two people injured.
 
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire, one person sustained minor injuries while another suffered major injuries. Medics airlifted the more critically injured patient to Cottage Hospital for further treatment.
 
When fire officials arrived, they found both vehicles with notable damage. Per news reports, one vehicle burst into flames, but firefighters were able to extricate its occupant from the wreckage.
 
Information surrounding what drove the accident has yet to be determined by investigators. Anyone with information should contact the authorities immediately.
 
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
