USPS Truck Collision on Gilstrap Avenue in Gridley
GRIDLEY, CA (June 12, 2019) – Two people sustained severe injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Gilstrap Avenue, Tuesday morning.
According to Cal Fire, two cars, including a USPS truck, collided around 11 a.m. First responders arrived to the area near East Gridley Road shortly after.
A white pickup truck reportedly landed in a shallow pool of water while the USPS truck came to a stop on a grassy area.
The two patients suffered moderate to major injuries as a result of the impact. A REACH Air helicopter also arrived to transport one victim to a hospital for further treatment.
Furthermore, the other occupant was transported via ambulance. However, their current condition is unclear.
The surrounding roadway was blocked off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the scene. The circumstances of this crash are still undetermined, but an investigation is still currently underway.
