2-Car Collision Injures 2 people on Highway 154 near East Camino Cielo in Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara, CA (May 10, 2020) – Two cars collided on Highway 154 at the top of San Marcos Pass, injuring 2 people on Friday, May 8.
The collision, which occurred around 2 p.m., involved a Toyota RAV4 and a Volkswagen Golf GTI, according to the California Highway Patrol. Additionally, they also stated that the accident happened near East Camino Cielo.
A victim in the car collision suffered from moderate injuries, says Capt. Daniel Bertucelli of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. Thus, the AMR ambulance immediately took the victim to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Moreover, another person with minimal injuries was looked at by the paramedics. The victim refused to go to the hospital, adds Capt. Bertucelli.
The collision happened as a result of the Volkswagen being hit on the broadside as it was turning left, and being thrown 30 feet from the initial collision site, falling off the road.
Santa Barbara County firefighters, along with sheriff’s deputies, responded to the crash on the San Marcos Pass.
Meanwhile, the CHP is currently still investigating the car accident.
