2 Hurt in Bakersfield Car Accident on Weedpatch Highway

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 9, 2020) – Sunday night, two drivers sustained serious injuries in a head-on crash on Weedpatch Highway.
 
According to CHP, the crash occurred at about 8:40 p.m. on Weedpatch Highway near Bengston Avenue.
 
Sgt. Bryan Hunt revealed that a Chevy Suburban traveled while a Subaru traveled north. However, the Subaru driver went across double yellow lines in the roadway to drive passed the traffic.
 
When responders arrived, they transported the seriously injured drivers to a hospital. Meanwhile, six other parties sustained minor to moderate injuries as they rode the Suburban, Hunt added.
 
The authorities are still investigating the crash. They also temporarily closed the traffic for an hour and a half.
 
The collision and investigation blocked traffic for about an hour and a half.
