Fatal 3-Car Accident in Canyon Lane
CANYON LAKE, CA (January 27, 2020)—Two people died after a three-car collision unfolded Friday on Railroad Canyon Road near Goetz Road.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal event involved three vehicles around 9:54 p.m. Investigators believe a car traveling eastbound on Railroad Canyon Road rear-ended a second eastbound vehicle on the same street. Due to the impact, one of the two cars veered into the westbound lane and collided with a westbound traveler.
Unfortunately, two people occupying the westbound vehicle died in the crash. Four people suffered moderate injuries and two of them had to be freed from the wrecked vehicle.
Information surrounding the ultimate cause of the crash has yet to be determined by local officials.
